It's My Story Now...

I am not even sure where to begin to honest.

I have been contemplating this post for a while, but then realized no one will understand better than YOU. So here I am.

I don't want to get into the whole drawn out story, its too long and well I am not emotionally ready...

But I knew something was wrong.

4 years ago I went from 200lbs to 140lbs, a size 14 to a size 4., I ate beyond healthy and small meals, added in exercise here and there to keep me firm. I was able to maintain with a low carb diet and staying active.

Then 3 1/2 years ago, my son's pancreas gave out. His immune system failed him...a week before that my husband got laid off and our whole life was literally in a whirlwind of chaos.

Slowly, I started to feel more and more emotional, drained, exhausted, and started putting on some weight.

I didn't worry about too much..until it became overwhelming.

Labs showed nothing. All normal. Probably just stress they said. But even with low carb and exercise I couldn't lost more than 10lbs.

Well I went to a new kind of doctor...holistic...natural...preventative, he did labs I have never even heard of..saliva, blood, stool. Testing things NO regular doctor will test for.

and what happened?

I have been dxed with the autoimmune disease Hashimotos, Adrenal fatigue, borderline anemia and vit D deficiency.

WOW.

Seriously?

And guess what? 2 of those cause weight gain AND anxiety! BINGO!!!

He showed me my labs and while things like white blood count, and cholesterol are in the "recommended limits" by a PCP, he feels they are too low, for someone my age.. so we are addressing that as well.

His analogy was

"You are here, there is a brick wall. Most doctors wont address your issues until you hit that wall, I want to prevent it from 3000ft away!"

I will be on thyroid supplements (going natural route for now) for the rest of my life, and other things for a few years until the adrenal, and D situation is under control.

I am allergic to rye, and barley so I will remain gluten free. And I also have NO enzymes to break down fruit, which is why my stomach instantly hurts after just one apple.

Due to some other abnormal intestinal levels and symptoms I am being tests for Crohns as well.

His tests and information were overwhelming but more informative than anything I have ever done, heard or seen. I will be restested monthly sometimes bi weekly to ensure all supplements are working, which another reason I feel so confident in this guy. Not just "heres the meds...ok bye!" like most doctors.

So here I am..

Starting this journey. It wont be easy, I will be going through many changes, physically and emotionally. I have been ordered to SLEEP as that is a major party of adrenal fatigue, so now I have to figure out how. With a type 1 child and a husband who works nights....it ain't an easy fix.

I have been on digestive enzymes for a month and have lost 15 lbs so I truly believe that was one of the problems as well

I am scared beyond words.....

and could use all the prayers and hugs I can get...

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I'm really starting to like the sound of this guy. Can you tell me more about the digestive enzymes you're on?

Sending HUGS your way D Mamma!!!!!!!!

I have hashimoto's as well. A naturalist put me on kelp. With hashi's, the thyroid will fluctuate a lot. Sometimes it will be sluggish and other times it will go in overdrive. Hang in there......I pray that he'll be the answers to your prayers.

Wow, certainly a surprise, but sounds like there's hope now, too, now that you can start addressing the situation. At least you know what you are up against.

Praying, as well.

So glad you're getting some answers, though... now you know what you're dealing with and have some starting points in addressing it.

And honestly, I've had some health things of my own going on, and now you've got me thinking maybe I'd better find a doctor to get checked out. So thanks for that part.

Oh Lexi, I'm so sorry. But hopefully having some answers and a course of treatment will help.

I've missed you, but certainly understand why you've been gone. Please remember that you are never alone. This community will be here for you where this journey leads.

Love you! <3
